Welcome to the Class 2 home page!
In Class 2, we try to create an interactive and fun learning environment, where children can continue to develop every aspect of their learning. Throughout key stage 1, we promote children to become increasingly independent in their study by providing challenging, exciting, and enjoyable experiences. This enables the children to be prepared for the transition into key stage 2.
Morning sessions focus on language, literacy and mathematics to help embed core learning. We try to use a variety of different resources to make the learning as engaging to the children as possible. Afternoon sessions focus on exciting topic based learning, outdoor activities and the foundation curriculum subjects such as PSHE and ICT.
We try to offer the children a wealth of experiences such as D&T learning at the Stiperstones site, educational trips to different locations and opportunities for a residential in year 2. These out of class experiences help the children to discover the world around them and develop life skills, such as cooking and physical fitness.
We try to encourage home learning, your child will have a reading book, spellings and times table (Year 2 only) home learning to engage with. The impact of regular reading at home cannot be disputed and has an amazing effect on your child’s ‘love of reading’. We entwine reading and stories throughout classroom activities to foster this ‘love’.
We want to support all our children and families in the best way possible, so that all children have an exciting progression through key stage 1 and beyond.
